The Vietnam War was the first major war to have global news coverage. Any major events that happened in Vietnam would spread like wildfire in the days following. This drastically changed how US citizens are informed of large events. The purpose and structure of modern news has significantly changed since then, and we can reflect on how today’s news impacts the way people perceive events compared to the times of the Vietnam War.
